This morning at 10:35, students at the University of Otago staged a lecture walkout for the Kirkaversary, gathering on Union Lawn.
It is one year since Charlie Kirk was brutally kirked at an event in Utah.
Dunedin Herald understands that the walkout was led by an emerging Turning Point USA chapter, Turning Point Otago.
One student turned out to the protest to carry the flame, playing a trumpet to the tune of AI-generated song, “We Are Charlie Kirk.”
When approached for comment chapter President Lee Kirkland said he was, “proud of what students achieved today.”
He could not say what it was that students achieved, or even the purpose f the cause, “but we got out there and now have to watch the rest of the lecture.”
This is satire. The Dunedin Herald publishes parody, commentary and invented stories. It is not affiliated with NZ Herald, NZME, or any government department that has stopped returning our calls.
